Welcome to my page. I am a native of Mexico, and am the oldest of six children. My family immigrated to the US when I was 7 years old and lived in East Los Angeles for a couple of years. At the age of nine, my family continued our northward trek to San Jose where my family settled in a small house in East San Jose. My parents were determined to buy a home, even if it was the most modest, and in dire need of repairs, but it at least was affordable. After attending the local public schools, I continued my studies at Santa Clara University. There I studied biology and psychology. As a graduate of Santa Clara University, I am proud of the first-class Jesuit education I received during my four intense years. I am dedicated to the values imparted by the Jesuit tradition at SCU: critical thinking and a love of life-long learning, upholding high ethical standards, and working to improve our community with dedication and compassion.
Shortly after graduating from Santa Clara University, I proceeded to work with various financial consulting firms in Silicon Valley. I have over 22 years experience working with various financial firms, holding positions as a financial analyst, registered investment advisor and consultant. After seventeen years running a successful pension consulting firm, I retired from my career of helping employers and employees with their retirement pension needs, and proceeded to transfer my skills to my love of real estate. Ten years later, I continue to feel passionate about all aspects of real estate, and I am dedicated to help as many families as I can, to attain the many benefits of real estate. And in this wonderful endeavor I am extremely fortunate in that my husband, Lou Esquivel, is also a Realtor and a licensed lender, and my business partner. Together we make a great team and provide a valuable service to our clients.
As much as I enjoy working with my clients, my husband and I also enjoy our time traveling around the world. In our last trip, we witnessed the natural beauty and the ancient and modern civilization of Peru. From the top of Machu Picchu, to the floating islands in Lake Titicaca, the whole experience was invigorating and unforgettable. When not traveling foreign lands, our calendar is filled with activities with our family and friends. Also hoping to play more tennis games, go biking and hiking, and there is also a small cabin in Bear Valley that we try to get to as often as we can.
Buying or selling real estate is not easy for most of us. Any time we deal with a major purchase or investment, we will go through a roller coaster of emotions. It is not unusual that a property buyer will go from feeling euphoric after their offer is accepted, to feeling deep remorse at the thought of making a major financial commitment. Same with the home Seller – what if there is another buyer out there that will give them more money and ask for no concessions, if they just wait a little longer…the stress is unbearable. The role I play is to gently guide my clients thru the process, present all facts, from property comparables, to explaining the contract provisions and how I conduct my due diligence. I am a problem solver by nature. I see opportunities, not obstacles. It is my goal to be a resource for my clients, helping them to make an informed decision. I reduce my stress and live a happy life by doing my job thoughtfully and expeditiously. My clients trust me and know that I am the real estate professional that is looking out for their best interests.
